Billy Vunipola has been given a “formal cautioning” by the Rugby Football Association after the Britain player protected Israel Folau’s web-based social networking post asserting “hellfire anticipates” gay individuals.
The 26-year-old number eight loved the post by Folau and called for individuals to “live their lives how God expected”.
Amid a gathering, the RFU said Vunipola had “communicated certifiable lament”.
“The notice will be held on his disciplinary record for a time of five years and might be considered in future disciplinary procedures,” the RFU said in an announcement.
“Amid the gathering the player communicated certified lament at his open remarks and comprehended that he had caused harmed and offense because of his activities.
“He has been helped to remember his obligations as a Britain player and as a minister for the diversion, which esteems inclusivity and regard.”
